Why I Create Horse Memorial Keepsakes
His name was Smart Little Alec.
He was my greatest love story.
My first cutting horse—the one who shaped everything that came after.
I started Little Sorrel Design because of Alec — as a way to carry him with me into the cutting pen while I showed a new horse.
After he passed, it became something even more meaningful.
It became his legacy.
Losing him broke me in a way I can’t fully put into words. It opened a depth of love and grief that only a heart horse can leave behind.
And in that heartbreak, this work found deeper meaning.
Now, I create these pieces for others who have loved and lost like I have — for those who understand that kind of bond doesn’t end…
